Trae Stephens

Forward Deployed Engineer, Palantir Technologies

Trae is one of Palantir’s Intelligence/Defense forward deployed engineering leads, working directly with several major government agencies on big data analysis challenges.  Prior to joining Palantir, he worked as a computational Arabic linguist building enterprise solutions to Arabic/Persian name matching and data enrichment within the Intelligence community.  He is from Cincinnati, OH; received a degree in Middle Eastern Studies from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University; and also spent a year abroad at the American University in Cairo, where he studied Islamic Philosophy and Egyptian Colloquial Arabic.  Prior to Palantir, he also worked as Special Assistant to the Chief of Staff of Georgetown University, interned in the office of Congressman Rob Portman (who is now a US Senator representing the State of Ohio) and served in the Political Affairs Office at the Embassy of Afghanistan in Washington DC immediately after the installation of Karzai’s transitional government.
